Great news! PSN wishes to inform everyone the existence of Philhealth coverage for peritoneal dialysis patients. This PD case rate covers 6 days of PD that is equivalent to a coverage for 1 hemodialysis procedure. As each facility/hospital carries its own cost of supplies, the patient may still have to shoulder excesses he may incur above that which is covered by Philhealth. All peritoneal dialysis patients can avail of this benefit. Bear in mind that this is different from the Z-package that is targeted more for indigent patients. The latter will be handled only by government hospitals.
With this coverage program, our patients can now consider PD a viable choice of therapy in matters of cost.
