The Philippine Society of Nephrology among other things, is an institution of science and has roots deep in the academe. In order to respond to the impetus for higher learning and improvement of the renal medicine, the PSN created the Research Board to provide guidelines for the ethical conduction of noteworthy clinical research.
The Research Board has the vital task of eliciting research output not just from fellows-in-training but also from interested diplomates, or fellow physicians of PSN as well. One avenue of ensuring a continuous stream of meaningful clinical investigations is through the research paper presentation contest, a competition pitting the best works of fellows in training from the different accredited training institutions. As a result, several papers have been recognized by the international community and had been presented in international events and subsequently published.
The PSN Research Board also assists worthwhile research endeavors by awarding financial aid as well as travel grants to the researcher after careful scrutiny.
